An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you know and what you don't. Education is learning what you didn't even know you didn't know.
Einstein hints at the deficiencies of modern educational system when he defines education as “something that remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.” This goes to emphasize the need for learning things beyond what our curriculum teaches us. And that relates to our inner world. We have explored the external world in myriad ways but our inner universe remains largely unexplored.
